一座山村作坊、一个竹制座架,以及 Michael 寻找完美注水的过程

Michael Zhan 在福建北部山区的一间小作坊发现了这个座架,离供应当地招牌竹编器具的竹林不远。当时他正为另一个项目采购浓香岩茶,一位当地中介提起有位木匠专门为老茶馆制作「水塔」。出于好奇,Michael 沿着土路步行,来到三座作坊聚集之处,那里父子们仍以手工劈竹。

这个水瓶座架本非商品——一位年迈的茶师为他的学生订制了一套六个,每个都根据学生拥有的水瓶高度精准裁切。Michael 花了两个下午,观看师傅调整榫接,并以装满石头的壶测试稳定性。他说服作坊生产一小批量,采用标准高度与顶环,并使用已风干三个雨季的八年老毛竹。

每个座架均以榫卯接合组装,无胶无钉。顶环经蒸气软化弯曲,再以单股藤条捆绑。由于竹子是活材,每座都有自己独特的竹节纹理与轻微色差——正是茶人所珍视的不规则之美。Michael 每年返回一次,查看新收获的竹材,并带回十二件作品。

The stand itself catches the light in narrow vertical stripes, its shadow bringing a rhythmic stillness to the room.

Over time, it will absorb whispers of the tea session — a blend of wood, water, and damp stone.

Not a taste, but a constant tactile assurance: the carafe is there when you need it, the stand sturdy and unmoving.
